Vintage mid century circa 1960's unsigned rhinestone clamper. Although unsigned it does have the same construction and quality as the designer fashion pieces during that same era such as a Juliana, Hattie Carnegie, Miriam Haskell or Schreiner.
Clamper consists of two large oval faceted glass foil back concord grape amethyst color rhinestones measuring 26mm by 20mm, both surrounded by many faceted round glass rhinestones the color of a light lilac orchid amethyst color. They are a bit lighter than what my photos show. All rhinestones are closed back and have been hand prong set into a gold tone rhodium plating.
Clamper is hinged, so fits most. Closed it measures approx 2 1/3" inside diameter. When open the inside diameter expands to approx 3". The actual piece has a nice side of approx 1 1/4" tall. The many accent rhinestones give it a pave crystal appearance.
Condition: Very good vintage condition with typical wear due to age and handling. The two large rhinestones have a deep amethyst color, upon very close inspection and or using a jewelers loop you will find some pitting, not eye noticeable just stating for accuracy purposes. The lighter rhinestones are still very bright and shiny. Upon very close inspection a couple are starting to get a tad darker, but again not noticeable and stating for accuracy purposes only. These would be considered typical wear, I wanted to be specific for anyone not accustomed to vintage rhinestone costume jewelry.
