An amazing find!
Kenneth Lane began his costume jewelry business in 1963. At that time, DeLizza & Elster aka Juliana was producing jewelry for other companies such as Weiss, Kramer, Hattie Carnegie, Hobe, Vendome, Sarah Coventry, Celebrity, Tara, Avon as well as Kenneth J Lane.
This is a mid century circa 1960's piece produced by Juliana for Kenneth Lane. Brooch has the Kenneth Lane cartouche used during the 60's through the 70's.
Brooch consists of multiple colors of blue faceted glass navettes. The closed back rhinestones are foilbacks whereas the open backs are not, giving it lots of play in the light. There are 8 round givre art glass faceted rhinestones as well. All rhinestones have been prong set, even down to the tiny accent stones on the butterfly antennae.
Brooch is a nice large size measuring 2 3/4" at it's widest and is 3" tall.
Condition: Very good vintage antique condition with typical wear due to age and handling. The lighter blue glass foilback navettes have started some light pitting upon close inspection, stating for accuracy purposes, as this piece is a stunner !! Rhodium plating is in very good condition as well.
